The 2018 Nueces Master Gardener Intern training class is scheduled to begin on August 6 and conclude on November 14. Click here for the complete schedule. We will kick-off the class with an orientation session on July 16 from 1pm-3pm at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Research & Extension Center located at 10345 Highway 44. And in case you can’t make that one, we have scheduled a second orientation for July 18, same place, same time.
Maybe you’ve heard of Nueces Master Gardeners and the remarkable things they do in our community. Or maybe you haven’t, but HAVE been thinking you would like to be part of a volunteer group committed to making a difference in the community. If you have, then Master Gardeners is the group for you! Our mission at the Extension Service is education which would be almost impossible in a community as large as ours without the help of our volunteers. That is why we at the Extension Service like to think of Master Gardeners as an “extension of Extension”.
If you would like to learn more about Master Gardeners and what they do in the community, please make plans to attend either the July 16 or the July 18 orientation session at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and Research Center.
There is a class participation fee of $225 payable at orientation by cash, check or credit card. We are currently in the process of finalizing the class schedule, so please be sure to visit our website in the near future for the complete schedule. Until then, if you think you would like to become a Master Gardener, please complete the Master Gardener Application which also includes a contract and a background check. You can follow the instructions on the application for returning the documents or you can bring them with you to orientation. Oh, and be sure to tell your friends too!
We look forward to hearing from you, and thank you for visiting our website!
